The Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians recognizes that sanitary and environmentally sound disposal of solid waste is important to sustaining the health of the environment.  Inappropriate disposal of solid waste has adverse environmental impacts on the Reservation and is contrary to the historic and close relationship between the people of the Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians and their lands.  In 2015 Tribal Council decided to establish a recycling operation to collect, sort and dispose of all beverage containers on its reservations.  Tons of beverage containers are recycled every year in addition thousands of pounds of cardboard, paper, glass, plastics, wire, and metals.
